~ MMD Tip of the Day ~

When creating your own animated scenes, be sure to put your effects on last! Once all of the motion data and the camera data is complete and saved, only then should you put your effects on :)

Why?

Because putting large effects on while you are animating can cause lag and also increases the risk of MMD crashing. Also sometimes when you save your scene as a project file, some effects can cause crashing when trying to load your work back up again! This renders the whole project unusable as it will continue to crash each and every time you try to load. This is because there is far too much to load for your computer to handle! >.< It tries its best but in the end gives up :(

(Trust me... this has happened soooo many times, luckily I have the main motion and camera data saved. Everything else needed to be replaced and it took a lot of time.)

Edit:

This great piece of advice has been shared by the awesome Wampa842 for when you have saved the project file with effects and it crashes!

"If a project crashes on load because of the effects, navigate to the .pmm file, and delete the .emd (or .emm, can't recall) with the same name. MME stores effect mapping in separate save files because storing it in the PMM is impossible. If you delete that file, it simply won't load any effects, as if it was made without MME."
Thank you! That would have saved me a lot of time if I knew about it a while ago :P I may even have some old project files that I can do this on too~ Yaay old projects

Guuys~ I know its been a long loooooong time since you have heard from me, and for that I appologise! >.<

I have a small problem and question for you all:

My Motion Data Indexes are almost full up!

Early this morning I updated them and had to slip the motion indexes into three parts... but updating just now I had to move a section from the first over to the second to make room. The problem is that it has just happened again and I had to move some data around.

What should I do?

Should I split them up further? Perhaps maybe the more popular letters get their own index altogether?

I need some suggestions please <3

Heya guys, I just had a thought....

What if DeviantArt deleted my indexes for some reason or another? What would I do in that instance?
I do actually have up-to-date backups in my stash so I could easily re-upload but do you think I should do something more?
Maybe upload the index to a blog of some sorts?

Of course if I did post the up on a blog then I will still update here as well as this is where I keep track of requests and such for finding motion data.

What do you think about this idea? Have any of your own? Or should I just keep what I have at the moment and whatever may happen, happens? :)

Livestream Tutorials!

Heya guys, I was thinking of doing a Livestream Live Broadcast today for MMD/PMD Editor. This will be a open tutorial session where you can request what you want to know and I will help you step-by-step in learning how to do it! I am not sure how many of you would be interested in watching/taking part in this so I have no idea how many different tutorials I will do in one broadcast.

If there are not many people, I can do quite a few or take more time on one single lesson :)
If quite a few of you end up joining then I will still take my time in teaching you, but I may not be able to get around to everyone.

Information:

:bulletpurple: Broadcast will be on Livestream. The journal will be updated with a link to view when ready.
:bulletpurple: Recordings will be of my desktop, meaning you can see it all happen live and in person.
:bulletpurple: I will be using my Mic so instructions and answers to any questions will be easier to understand.
:bulletpurple: This will last around an hour before I will take a break in order to cook by siblings dinner. I will most likely continue afterwards for another hour or so (TBC).
:bulletpurple: You can ask ANY question about MMD or PMD Editor... or even MMM :'D It can also be anything related to MMD such as, "How do you upload a MMD video correctly with the right description?". Anything goes.

Would anyone be interested?

I was thinking maybe open the broadcast in around 30 minutes? 5 PM GMT.
Please comment if you are interested in watching this. If I can get at least 3 comments then I shall do it <3

Lets hope it works!

Seriously, does anybody know? >0<

I have had a interest in MME effects for a while but I cannot find anything on how they are made or what program they are used in!
There is a small bit on the Miku Miku Beat website that says:

"You can do that with a program called Rendermonkey."

But it then says on another page:

"When MikuMikuEffect was first released, it was noted that rendermonkey presets were compatible with it. The software has since been discontinued. I found the following on the download page."
"RenderMonkey has reached end of life. AMD no longer supports RenderMonkey, but makes it available for download without warranty."

TT_______TT I just wanna know how to make awesome effects like these: www43.atwiki.jp/beamman/ . Can anyone help or maybe give me some advice?
